The second running of the Platinum Belt Marathon will take place on Sunday, 26 November 2017, starting from Phokeng and finishing at the Wonderkop Stadium in Marikana.
There is a choice of a 42.2km standard marathon, 21km half marathon or 10km race.
All athletes finishing in the top 10 for each distance will receive gold medals and a finish before the cut-off time will earn the athlete a silver medal.
T-shirts and caps to all finishers within the cut-off times.
A shuttle service will transport athletes to the start of the 42.2km and 21km races.
The flat course makes this an easy qualifier for Comrades 2018 and your result will automatically be uploaded to your Comrades entry as your qualifying time.
All 3 races are timed and require a ChampionChip to receive a result.
No chip - No result - No prize.
The grit & determination of the Gauteng mountain biking fraternity will be tested to the full when the Pretoria Boys High School 12-Hour Challenge takes place on Saturday 2nd December 2017.
The 5th edition of this endurance event, will once again roll out across the 85-acre campus in Brooklyn, southeast of the city centre.
Up to 300 participants are expected to push the limits of their mental & physical staying power.
It's a unique experience - taking on a 12-hour challenge within the city limits.
The course covers the school estate, taking riders between the historic school buildings, around the pristine sports fields & through it's 100-year old forests.
Sole riders & relay teams of 2 to 4 participants would be required to cover as many laps of the 6.1km circuit within the 12 hours.
There will be up to R10 000 worth of prizes as well as products from the title sponsor.
Every entrant will also receive an event buff & starter pack.
You are invited to enjoy the carnival atmosphere of the annual school fundraiser, which will include food stalls, children's play area, musical entertainment & the screening of the Springbok rugby test.
The event will also provide camping sites.

This popular event presents the ideal setting for the first marathon of the year.
The route is a double lapper and relatively flat.
For those still easing into the year, there is a 21km as well as a 10km and 5km fun run.

The 2018 Cape Gate Vaal Marathon is taking place on Sunday 4th March 2018 and will be the 44th running of this event.
The 42.2km and 21.1km event is pre-entry only, limited to 3500 on the marathon and 2000 on the Half Marathon.
Only 1000 of each will be available at the shops and collection points.
R10 of each 42.2 and 21.1 km entry will go to our local charities.
This is a 4 race event, a 42.2 km Marathon, 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Race, only 220 entries available on the 10+1 and a 5 km Fun Run - 5 km Fun Run entries will be taken at Registration.
The popular +1 10km race will again be held and is for 2 runners running and finishing together to qualify for a special medal.

The 50km race is the flagship event.

The Deloitte Challenge consists of a 42.2km Marathon, starting at Lifestyle Centre, Ballito; a 21.1km Half Marathon, starting at Sibaya Casino; a 10km TEN-K Run starting at Virginia Soccer Club, Virginia Airport, a 5km Fun Run, starting at the Amphitheatre Durban Promenade and a 40km Cycle Race, starting at Lifestyle Centre, Ballito.
All running challenges end at the Amphitheatre Durban Promenade and the Cycle Challenge ends on the M4 near Sandile Thusi Road with full road closure of the M4 coastal highway.
The marathon is a Comrades Marathon qualifier.
The course is fast and ideal for a personal best attempt.
All the events, except for the 5km Fun Run, will be timed with ChampionChip.
Food, refreshments and entertainment will be available at the finish.
The Comrades Marathon 2018 has officially launched in Johannesburg on Wednesday 30th August 2017 with the theme "ASIJIKI - NO TURNING BACK!"

Dorothy Nyembe Marathon in Dundee is celebrating Reconciliation Day by bringing the community together through fitness and reunion of all Nations.
What better way to spend the day than by running while giving back for a great cause?
The event consists of a 5km, 10km, 21km Half Marathon or 42.2km Marathon.
The marathon will start from the Ncome Museum at the Blood River Heritage Site at 6h00 and has a 6-hour cut-off.
The 10km starts at 6h30 and the 5km at 7h30.
All races finish at the Dundee Oval Stadium.
Walkers are welcome.
DOROTHY NYEMBE was one of a generation of forceful women whose courage, energy and commitment helped to bring down the regime of apartheid.
She spent 18 years in prison in South Africa during the bleakest period of "the struggle".
