The Hillcrest Villagers are proud to be celebrating their 39th hosting of the popular Hillcrest Marathon, incorporating both a half and full marathon, following the traditional two lap course through the tree lined route into Winston Park.
Our event is the first KZN Two Oceans and Comrades qualifier of 2018, and with 2018 being our club's 41st birthday, we are pulling out all the stops to ensure a memorable event.
All finishers will receive a commemorative moisture management T-shirt and medal.
Your result will automatically be submitted as your qualifying time for Comrades Marathon 2018.

Jakaranda Cycling Club are proud to host the Jakaranda "Pre-Argus" to test your fitness level before you head to the Cape for the Argus !!
The event will start at the Willem Prinsloo Museum - Rayton at 06h15 on 11th February 2018.
Medals will be awarded to all finishers in both the 90km & 60km ride and the event has some large prize incentives for the 90km.
The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) will be presenting the Bonitas Comrades Women Seminars between February and March 2018.
These seminars are aimed at providing technical as well as professional support to the ladies running Comrades Marathon in 2018 and those that would like to run it in the near future.
A panel of expert professionals in the fields of Medicine; Dietetics and the Official Comrades Coach will be on hand to provide expert advice to the attendees on a number of relevant topics.
These sessions will be interactive, with experts giving short presentations on selected topics.
The ladies will then be given an opportunity to direct questions to the panel.
Each session will start with a scrumptious breakfast.The cost is R150 per person, buffet breakfast included. Seats are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The 2018 Cape Gate Vaal Marathon is taking place on Sunday 4th March 2018 and will be the 44th running of this event.
The 42.2km and 21.1km event is pre-entry only, limited to 3500 on the marathon and 2000 on the Half Marathon.
Only 1000 of each will be available at the shops and collection points.
R10 of each 42.2 and 21.1 km entry will go to our local charities.
This is a 4 race event, a 42.2 km Marathon, 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Race, only 220 entries available on the 10+1 and a 5 km Fun Run - 5 km Fun Run entries will be taken at Registration.
The popular +1 10km race will again be held and is for 2 runners running and finishing together to qualify for a special medal.

Rand Road Warriors is a road running club based in Edenvale.
We are a family oriented running club who support the local community where possible.
Rand Road Warriors in association with Pharmaton are proud to present Pharmaton Edenvale Marathon 2018.
This event consists of a marathon, half marathon, the 10km run, and the Kidneybeanz 5km Fun Run.
All 42km results will automatically be sent to Comrades as a potential qualifying time.
Qualifying times will be calculated on a gun to mat basis.
The proceeds of the 5km run will be donated to The Kidneybeanz Trust, a Non-Profit Organization, supporting children with life threatening kidney disease, and their families.
They are bolstered financially, emotionally and psycho-socially by Kidneybeanz during such devastating times.
It attracts over 10 000 participants.
Due to its scenic route - via the Hartbeespoort Dam - and family appeal, the race is consistently voted as one of the top national races.
The 50km race is the flagship event.
Gold medals will be awarded to category winners, silver medals to men under 3:45 and women under 4:10, and bronze to all other finishers.
The annual K-Way Gallopers 15km & 5km road race, organised by the Gallopers Athletic Club, will be held on the 18th March 2018.
There are a few twists and turns on this moderate to easy course, which is ideal for you to set a "personal best".
Please note that reduced entry fee's for Grand Masters must be done at race number collection or race morning.
The Deloitte Challenge consists of a 42.2km Marathon, starting at Lifestyle Centre, Ballito; a 21.1km Half Marathon, starting at Sibaya Casino; a 10km TEN-K Run starting at Virginia Soccer Club, Virginia Airport, a 5km Fun Run, starting at the Amphitheatre Durban Promenade and a 40km Cycle Race, starting at Lifestyle Centre, Ballito.
All running challenges end at the Amphitheatre Durban Promenade and the Cycle Challenge ends on the M4 near Sandile Thusi Road with full road closure of the M4 coastal highway.
The marathon is a Comrades Marathon qualifier.
The course is fast and ideal for a personal best attempt.
All the events, except for the 5km Fun Run, will be timed with ChampionChip.

The 32nd running of the Forever Resorts 50km Loskop Marathon takes place on 21 April 2018.
The point to point event is a firm favourite on the running calendar starting in Middelburg and finishing at Loskopdam, A Forever Resort.
The event comprises an ultra marathon covering 50km as well as the Wild Challenge (21.1km) and the 4.9km Rhino Fun Run.
The races have a field limit of 3500 for the 50km and 1500 for the 21.1km.
Race entry fees include a commemorative T-Shirt & Medal (21.1km and 50km events only).
It's time to get your running shoes on, and to clear your diary, in preparation for the annual Birchwood Cross the Line Half Marathon which takes place in the City of Ekurhuleni next year on Sunday, 22 April 2018.
Now in its 8th year, the race starts and ends on the 52 sprawling hectares of gardens of the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg.
Aimed at attracting both dedicated athletes, and promoting exercise, combined with fun, for a healthy lifestyle amongst Gauteng's families, the race has grown year on year; in 2017 accommodating 3 750 runners in the 21.1km and 10km races, and a further 250 runners/ walkers in the 5km race.
The FIRST 1 500 entrants to the race will receive a t-shirt and medals will be awarded to all participants who successfully finish the race.
Start times for the 21.1km and 10km is 6:30am and 7:30am for the 5km race.
Entries open in December 2017 and can be purchased online www.birchwoodhalfmarathon.co.za, at Birchwood Hotel reception or the Sweat Shops in Bedfordview and Dunkeld. Entries cost R140 for the 21.1km, R100 for the 10km and R60 for the 5km.
Temporary licence fees apply to runners not affiliated to a club; R25 for the 21.1km, R20 for the 10km and no fee for the 5km race.

Dorothy Nyembe Marathon in Dundee is celebrating Reconciliation Day by bringing the community together through fitness and reunion of all Nations.
What better way to spend the day than by running while giving back for a great cause?
The event consists of a 5km, 10km, 21km Half Marathon or 42.2km Marathon.
The marathon will start from the Ncome Museum at the Blood River Heritage Site at 6h00 and has a 6-hour cut-off.
The 10km starts at 6h30 and the 5km at 7h30.
All races finish at the Dundee Oval Stadium.
Walkers are welcome.
DOROTHY NYEMBE was one of a generation of forceful women whose courage, energy and commitment helped to bring down the regime of apartheid.
She spent 18 years in prison in South Africa during the bleakest period of "the struggle".
